In our busy lives it is so important to have time to relax! Come along, unwind and enjoy being bathed in the voice. Apart from the sheer enjoyment of the sounds, benefits people often experience are an increased sense of self awareness, feeling more connected to self and life, reduced stress and anxiety, help with pain control.
Studies show during this sort of sound and vocal work levels of the stress hormone cortisol can lower, blood pressure and heart rate can drop and the brain’s sodium and potassium levels can even be brought into balance (which usually happens after good sleep) when we enter a state of consciousness akin to meditation. In this state, cellular regeneration can also occur. People often find sound a much easier way to achieve this kind of state than by meditating.
The session will last an hour, you will be invited to lie down comfortably on the floor (or you can sit in a chair if lying down doesn’t suit you) and I will use my voice to create tones and overtones and then use a series of percussion instruments to gently bring you back from your relaxation.
All you need to do is wear loose comfortable clothes, bring a blanket, a pillow and some water and you may like to bring a yoga mat to lie on. It is a good idea to eat a light meal beforehand.
