Healing Drum & Kids Drumming Workshops

Drumming Workshops for Adults and Kids

Benefits of Drumming

Drumming has been used for thousands of years to transform consciousness, excite our senses, relax us, release us, connect us, assist healing on very level – physical, emotional and spiritual

Drumming Helps Control Chronic Pain
Drumming promotes the production of endorphins and endogenous opiates, the bodies own morphine-like painkillers, and can thereby help in the control of pain

Drumming Accesses the Entire Brain
The reason rhythm is such a powerful tool is that it permeates the entire brain. Vision, for example, is in one part of the brain, speech another, but drumming accesses the whole brain. The sound of drumming generates dynamic neuronal connections in all parts of the brain even where there is significant damage or impairment such as in attention deficit disorder (ADD).

Drumming Induces Natural Altered States of Consciousness
The brain changes from beta waves (focused concentration and activity) to Alpha waves (calm and relaxed), producing feelings of euphoria and well-being.

Drumming Creates a Sense of Connectedness With Self and Others
A drum circle provides an opportunity to connect with your own spirit at a deeper level, and also to connect with a group of other like-minded people.

Drumming Releases Negative Feelings, Blockages, and Emotional Trauma
Drumming can help people express and address emotional issues. Unexpressed feelings and emotions can form energy blockages. The physical stimulation of drumming removes blockages and produces emotional release. Sound vibrations resonate through every cell in the body, stimulating the release of negative cellular memories.

Healing Drum for Adults

Our healing drum for adults is for anyone who wants to join in circle for an experience of transformative and therapeutic drumming. During the session we will explore different ways to use drum to heal ourselves and others, and participate in an intuitive drumming circle – which intentionally leads us into a deeper meditative state.

No drumming experience or drum required, but do feel free to bring your own drum, rattle or other instrument that can join our co-created rhythmic sound bath.

Drumming for Kids

This session is for children aged 5-12.

We wish to give the kids plenty of opportunity to express themselves through the drum! Release held up tensions, frustrations in a healthy way, or empower themselves by becoming confident at a new skill. And simply give them a space to be playful and noisy for a change! At the end of the session we gather in circle also working with them to develop their ability to co-operate with others and co-create a sound bath of rhythmic vibration to calm the mind and assist natural healing processes.

No previous experience or drum required. Just book in and come join the fun!
